Utilities - Sort Blocks
The Sort Blocks category in the Utilities section of Project Explorer enables users to define how entity lists are sorted and displayed in the Browser panel. This enables project teams to better navigate the system model and focus on specific entities of interest.
Sort Blocks
The browser pane lists all defined sort blocks in alphabetical order. Sort blocks are defined on a per-project basis, enabling each project to maintain the collection of sort blocks that best meets their needs. When you select a sort block, the information for the selected sort block is shown in the property sheet area.
Property Sheet
For each sort block, the properties include:
- Name - the unique identifier of the selected sort block. There are no formal restrictions on the name.
- Ascending / Descending - the direction of the sort.
- Essential - a flag indicating whether or not this sort block is required by GENESYS. Essential sort blocks cannot be renamed or deleted.
- Sort Criteria - the ordered collection of criteria to use in comparing two entities. Criteria can include the class (its alias), specific entity system property values, and specific entity attribute values.
- Up Arrow / Down Arrow - Move the selected statement up or down in the collection.
- Entity Representation - the desired representation for entities when using this sort block. Individual fields are concatenated to form the representation shown in the entity list. Individual fields can include the class (its alias), specific entity system property values, specific entity attribute values, and literal text.
- Up Arrow / Down Arrow - Move the selected statement up or down in the collection.
