COREsim User Preferences

The COREsim preferences allow you to select the COREsim windows you would like to automatically see when opening a simulator. [Note that the timeline window will always be open.]  In addition, you can select  classes of elements that will initially be displayed in the timeline window, set the initial scale, and set the initial tick increments. These default settings will become the initial settings each time the timeline window is opened. However, all these values can also be changed independently in the COREsim timeline window once it is opened.

Default COREsim Windows

Open Transcript - toggles whether or not the transcript pane will be opened by default when a new simulation is opened.

Open Timeline Elements - toggles whether or not the timeline elements pane (controlling which elements to display on the timeline) will be opened by default when a new simulation is opened.

Timeline Options

Display Functions - toggles whether or not functions should be displayed on the timeline by default.

Display Items - toggles whether or not items should be displayed on the timeline by default. Note that only triggers are shown on the timeline (data stores are not).

Display Resources  - toggles whether or not resources should be displayed on the timeline by default.

Display Links - toggles whether or not links should be displayed on the timeline by default.

Display Intermediate Functions - toggles whether or intermediate functions (those functions encountered during the simulation which are executed at a lower level of decomposition).

Show Frame on Output - controls whether or not a frame block should be shown when the timeline is printed. If checked, CORE will use the standard diagram frame block specified in the General Diagram settings.

Scale - controls the initial horizontal scale used for time - Normal, Large, or Small. For a given simulation, this setting can then be changed after the simulator is opened by using the drop-down at the top of the timeline.

Major Tick Increment - controls the major units at which tick marks will be drawn on the time scale. Each major increment is labeled with the corresponding time.

Minor Tick Increment - controls the minor units at which tick marks will be drawn on the time scale. This setting also controls the width of the alternating vertical bands displayed on the timeline to help visually trace time vertically on the timeline.
