The random stream preferences enable you to control the starting random number to enable repeatability in simulations.
GENESYS has 100 independent random number streams. Streams 1 through 99 are available for general use. Stream 100 is reserved for branch selection logic. Setting the seed for a random number stream allows you to ensure repeatable conditions across simulation runs.
Profiles - enables you to save and restore seed profiles for reuse. When comparing two architectures, executing them under equivalent conditions and profiles provides the truest comparison.
Stream X - allows you to specify the current seed for the specified stream.
NOTE: |
Understanding and Leveraging the Simulator Executable models are a critical aspect of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and a key capability of GENESYS. The Simulator User Guide available in the Documentation folder provides a complete explanation of the features and behavior of the simulator. |
