The Unlock command reverses an entity freeze so that the entity, its attributes, its parameters, its structures, and its design-oriented relationships can once again be changed (within the bounds of user permissions). This command can be applied at many different levels enabling fine-grained control.
When an entity is locked, a small lock icon will be displayed on the left side of the name field on the entity property sheet. If the entity is unlocked, no icon is present. |
To unlock one or more entities, select the desired entities from the entity list in the project explorer. Right-click to access the context menu and select the Unlock command. You must have administrator permissions for the selected entities in order to unlock them.
To unlock all entities in a folder, select the desired folder from the project pane in the project explorer. Right-click to access the context menu and select the Unlock command. You must have administrator permissions for all entities within the folder.
Unlocking at the folder level will unlock all entities included in the folder and all subfolders.
To unlock all entities in a package, select the desired package from the project pane in the project explorer. Right-click to access the context menu and select the Unlock command. You must have administrator permissions for all entities within the package.
Unlocking at the package level will unlock all entities included in the package and all sub-packages.
