Set Subject

The Set Subject command, accessed on the Diagram ribbon, allows you to specify the system that a use case diagram describes. This command sets the target of the describes relation for the use case upon which the diagram was opened. This is shown as the label on the large box in the middle of the use case diagram.

NOTE:

The subject is “inherited” and does not have to be linked to every level of the use case model. When determining the subject for a diagram, GENESYS begins with the use case on which the diagram was opened and looks up the ancestor hierarchy until it finds a use case that describes a component. In this process, GENESYS considers the included in, extends, and generalization of relationships. Setting a subject at the current level overrides any subject set higher in the use case hierarchy.
