Set Extension Point

The Set Extension Point command, accessed on the Diagram ribbon, enables you to specify the extension point at which the selected extension node extends the corresponding use case. The extension point is captured within GENESYS as an attribute on the extends relationship between two use cases. This command allows you to easily assign the extension point directly from the use case diagram without opening the property sheet for the component.

 

 

Use case diagrams display extension points in two ways. First, the label on the <<extend>> relationship displays the name of the extension point (if defined) below the <<extend>> label. Second, if a use case has extensions, the icon template can be changed to the Use Case Extension Points template to display the defined extension points on the icon.
