The general options allow you to configure primary window preferences and project explorer options to customize your interaction with CORE.
Auto Select Target Class - with this option enabled, CORE transparently tracks your last folder selection. If this folder is available the next time you use the target-style dialogs, CORE auto-selects the folder. If not available, CORE selects the first folder (corresponding to the first target class). This helps reduce unnecessary mouse clicks and can significantly accelerate interactions.

In general, enabling this option is recommended. However, when connecting to projects in a remote repository on CORE Server, you may wish to disable this option. If your elements are not well organized into folders, you may encounter delays when transferring large lists of unneeded elements from the server to your local machine. |
Disable Rich Text Support - disabling this option will disable formatted text support in CORE. Text attributes such as descriptions will no longer support multiple fonts, font styles, colors, etc. It's recommended that this option only be disabled when required (specifically by Korean users operating in Hangul). Note that if this setting is changed, you must close and restart CORE before the new setting takes effect.
Initial Explorer Selection - determines the initial selection when a project explorer is opened, allowing you to determine your preferred starting point for navigating your system model. Available options are the main packages selection, the pre-defined facilities (architecture, systems engineering, program management, verification, and all classes), and the Notification Center. The default is the essentials facility. This preference jumps you right into the middle of your model while still exposing you to the richness of the model.

If the selected starting point is a facility, the Component class will be selected by default. This begins navigation at the system, subsystem, or component level, generally a logical point of departure. |
Change Pane Color when Filtered - controls whether the background color of the elements pane shifts to a light blue when a filter is applied. This visual cue serves as a valuable indicator that a filter is currently active.
Show Subfolder Elements - controls whether elements in subfolders are shown by default when a project explorer is opened. Once a project explorer has been opened, you can use the Show Elements in Subfolders command to toggle the display of subfolder elements on or off.
Show Relationship Attributes - controls whether relationship attributes are shown by default in target lists when a target list is opened. Once a target list has been opened, you can use the Collapse All or Show All commands to collapse/expand the display of relationship attributes.
Suppress Revision Display - controls whether revision data (who made the last change and when it was made) is suppressed or shown. If suppress revision data is toggled off, when the mouse hovers over an attribute field, tip text will display the last person to change the attribute and when the change was made.
Use Short Date Format - controls whether dates are shown in short format (e.g., MM/DD/YY) or long format (e.g., MMMM DD, YYYY). The actual form of the date is controlled by the Regional and Language Options in the Windows Control Panel. (Note that when displaying dates in long format, CORE explicitly ignores any specification to display the day of the week.)
Display Definitions - controls whether schema descriptions are shown as an added guide to the system definition language. If display definitions is toggled on, when the mouse hovers over an attribute, class, or relationship label, the tip text will display the schema description for that object. This option is useful for new users who are learning the system definition language.
Suppress List Icons - controls whether icons are shown next to objects in lists. In particular, this controls the display of folder icons in element lists. The folder icons provide a visual indicator of whether or not the folder has content, but can be toggled off if desired.
Set Font - controls the font displayed in all text windows and diagrams with the exception of formatted text fields (which are shown in Times New Roman 10 by default).
This setting controls which diagrams are available as tabs in the project explorer and in what order the tabs are displayed. With the ever increasing set of views available in CORE, this provides you easy control over which diagrams are available directly in the project explorer.
Checking the box next to a diagram will display that diagram as a tab in the project explorer. Using the arrows next to the list of views, you can change the order of the diagrams - either to prioritize your preferred diagrams or group the diagrams in your preferred order.
This setting takes effect the next time a project explorer is opened. It will not modify tabs on an open project explorer.

If a diagram type is marked as hidden (using the preferences for that specific diagram type), it will be displayed in this list of diagrams, but it will not be displayed as a tab on the project explorer. |
