To help individuals and teams manage their collection of report files, the file location preferences allow the user to specify where the report files are located.
To change a default directory, either type the desired path in the field or click the folder button to browse to the desired folder. Paths can either be entered in drive letter (D:\...) or UNC (\\ServerName\...) format. Since file locations are often relative to the machine you are working at, file locations are stored as part of your Windows system registry. You can have different settings on each machine you work at.
Main - controls the location of the main CORE report directory which houses the report templates developed and distributed by Vitech. This directory is set during installation and generally should not be changed.
Common - controls the location of the common CORE report directory which houses the report templates shared by different reports. This directory is set during installation and generally should not be changed.
User - controls the location of the user CORE report directory which houses the report templates developed by you and your project team. All user reports must be located in this directory or in a subdirectory in order to be added to the list of available reports in the Run Script dialog.

Sharing Reports Many project teams elect to place the user reports directory on a common team drive so that all team members can share a common set of user scripts. |

Previous versions of CORE included preferences to specify default file locations for data, source, and output files. Though the file structure remains for those who choose to use it, these specific settings were largely obsolete and have been removed. CORE now remembers the last folder used during the session and returns to that location when you import a file, export a file, save a graphic, etc.. |
