Remap Project ID

The Remap Project ID allows the user to assign a new unique identifier to a project. Though project name uniqueness is enforced within a repository, the ID is the true identifier used for a project in cross-project relationships. If the project ID does not match between the Related Projects and the project itself, cross-project relationships cannot successfully resolve.

The ID must follow the form of a GUID. Because the ID is uniquely assigned upon creation, if projects are not resolving correctly, the best approach is to copy the GUID from the second tab of the appropriate project property sheet rather than attempting to invent a new ID.
