Stop Following

The Stop Follow command removes your interest in an object so that you are no longer notified of any changes. Existing notifications remain, but no future notifications will be received. This command can be applied at many different levels enabling fine-grained control.

As long as you have registered interest in an object, all changes made by other individuals to that object will be recorded in your Notification Center. These notifications will remain until you clear them or until the project is exported and imported (they are not considered part of the project data but instead are a complementary capability).

Stopping at the Element Level

To stop follow one or more elements, select the desired elements from the element list in the project explorer. Right-click to access the pop-up menu and select the Stop Following command from the Manage submenu. You must have read permission for the selected elements in order to unregister your interest.

Stopping at the Folder Level

To stop following all elements in a folder, select the desired folder from the project pane in the project explorer. Right-click to access the pop-up menu and select the Stop Following command from the Manage submenu. Note that you will continue to receive notifications for any elements within the folder which you have separately followed at the element level.

Stopping at the Package Level

To stop following all elements in a package, select the desired package from the project pane in the project explorer. Right-click to access the pop-up menu and select the Stop Following command from the Manage submenu. Note that you will continue to receive notifications for any elements within the folder which you have separately followed at the element level.

Tips and Tricks

If you have lost track of what you are following, visit your Notification Center and look at the right pane. This lists all elements, folders, and packages that you are currently following. When unregistering interest, it is often easiest to stop following objects directly from the Notification Center.
