Remove Target

The Remove Target command removes the selected target from the associated relation. This breaks the relationship between the elements but maintains both elements as part of the system definition.

Remove Target versus Delete Target

Users are sometimes confused as to whether they should remove a target or delete a target. If you simply want to break a relationship with an element, use the Remove Target command. If you want to completely delete the target from the database, use the Delete Target command.

Remember that CORE's underlying model is integrated, and from this integrated model, CORE generates a rich interconnected system definition. Function ABC on one diagram is the same as Function ABC on another diagram. If you delete Function ABC, it is deleted from both diagrams, all relationships, and from the database.

What permissions are required to remove a target?

Removing a target deletes the relationship between two elements. To remove a target, you must have read permission to both elements and write permission to at least one of the elements.
